My first radios in 1961 were Heathkit Sixer, Twoer, Gonset Communicator II and then a Communicator IV both 2M and aircraft band. I joined Civil Air Patrol in 1964 and quickly got involved in CAP Communications, where I got introduced to HF Communications. My first HF radio was a Heathkit HW-18 specifically modified for CAP.  Still have that radio and the aircraft version of the Gonset Communicator IV.  I don’t have the Twoer, Sixer or my Regency HR-2A anymore but wish I had kept them.

In my early teens another member Bob High and I spent many weekends doing T-Hunts on 6M, later in my CAP search and rescue career that training paid off when trying to locate Emergency Locator Transmitters.

Current equipment on HF IC7300, IC7100, FTDX10,TS590SG, TS480 and FTDX1200. VHF and UHF too many different ones to list them all.
